I'm sneaking in a Post from Class!
Was just in Lebanon for the weekend! I kinda wish I was still there. You always really start realizing that you ARE in Lebanon the moment you are driving back to the airport. And that's what happened, we were driving back our tiny Yaris, among the crazy traffic, when the music on the radio was getting better and better by the song! I think some tears could've fallen at that moment! (ok just kidding). In any case, it was an amazing trip. Good friends, Amazing partner in crime! and 3 new places I discovered. L'o, Eight and Metis. L'o had amazing food you should all try it. Ok I should get back to my class... I'll try posting later if I get too bored, and manage to be discreet.

The Unexpected gift!
In any case, to me a surprise, a gift, when it is the least expected, offered to you by a friend that took a moment to think of you, means alot to me. Specifically because there is no occasion for it, but by simple caring.
I received a Rubik's cube from my friend Fonz, who knew I couldn't find it anywhere. And I just want to say yet again! extremely thoughtful, extremely caring, and and and ...and I absolutely adored it!
Kisses.

The Edge of Mind.
It’s not very dark out, the sun is simply setting. The weather is also warm; you’re not uncomfortable, but the water under you looks so cold.
You’re still not sure what you are standing there for, you’re still not sure how. With the dizziness you are feeling at that moment, nothing seems to make sense. You’re not supposed to be standing there. Destiny isn’t supposed to be this way, and you certainly don’t want to be here.
You breath in, and your heart warms up, you realize, regardless of that edge, your heart is still living, your heart is still beating, and it’s still warming up at that thought. You might jump; and your heart is what will save you; it is what will save you from the cold water. It might not get you back up on that edge, but it will let you survive the jump, the cold, and let you live another day, simply to hear your heart beat again.
You’re on the edge, still wondering how. Feeling so alone. Then you look down at the water, a reflection is starring back at you. You’re not alone; you’re standing right there with you soul. Is it really there, is that truly your soul looking you in your eyes. “Why are you here with me? Why weren’t you stronger than me, to lead me to the road of secure grounds? Why are we on this edge together?” You kept starring at it, and then it whispered that there was no reason for being here. It was one road, one road in your lifetime. One road that led to this moment. A protection, from falling off something bigger.
You’re in confusion, your tears are running down your cheeks, begging your heart to save you from jumping, begging your soul to being stronger than the unknown. You’re begging your mind to follow your heart and soul.
This is one edge your mind didn’t think of, this is one edge your mind didn’t fully comprehend. Your thoughts lost, and the only way out is to breath, for your heart to stay warm, to save you from that edge.
Only to make you stronger for the next unexpected road.
Only to help you have faith in your heart and soul.

Valentine's Day
First of all, Valentine's Day is named after Saint Valentine or Saint Valentinus, which refers to one or more martyred saints of ancient Rome. The feast of Saint Valentine was formerly celebrated on February 14 by the Roman Catholic Church.
About the Month of February:
- In ancient Athens, the month of Gamelion (between mid-January and mid-February ) was dedicated to the sacred marriage of Zeus and Hera.
-In ancient Rome, Lupercalia observed a very ancient pastoral festival, held on February 15 to avert evil spirits and purify the city, releasing health and fertility. Plutarch, a Greek historian wrote:
"Lupercalia, of which many write that it was anciently celebrated by shepherds, and has also some connection with the Arcadian Lycaea. At this time many of the noble youths and of the magistrates run up and down through the city naked, for sport and laughter striking those they meet with shaggy thongs. And many women of rank also purposely get in their way, and like children at school present their hands to be struck, believing that the pregnant will thus be helped in delivery, and the barren to pregnancy."
Then came Chaucer's Love Birds:
An English poet Geoffrey Chaucer was the first to link Valentine's day and romance threw his poetry. He wrote:
" For this was on seynt Volantynys day
Whan euery bryd comyth there to chese [chose] his make [mate]."
In Modern times:
Using the language of the law courts for the rituals of courtly love, a "High Court of Love" was established in Paris on Valentine's Day in 1400. The court dealt with love contracts, betrayals, and violence against women. Judges were selected by women on the basis of a poetry reading.
Valentine Traditions
Hundreds of years ago in England, many children dressed up as adults on Valentine's Day. They went singing from home to home. One verse they sang was:
Good morning to you, valentine;
Curl your locks as I do mine ---
Two before and three behind.
Good morning to you, valentine.
In Wales wooden love spoons were carved and given as gifts on February 14th. Hearts, keys and keyholes were favorite decorations on the spoons. The decoration meant, "You unlock my heart!"
In the Middle Ages, young men and women drew names from a bowl to see who their valentines would be. They would wear these names on their sleeves for one week. To wear your heart on your sleeve now means that it is easy for other people to know how you are feeling.
In some countries, a young woman may receive a gift of clothing from a young man. If she keeps the gift, it means she will marry him.
Some people used to believe that if a woman saw a robin flying overhead on Valentine's Day, it meant she would marry a sailor. If she saw a sparrow, she would marry a poor man and be very happy. If she saw a goldfinch, she would marry a millionaire.

Balancing life.
We spend every day, learning something new, discovery something new, whether it being about the way ppl do business on the other side of the planet, or something new about a friend's personality or anything really. Life is just about taking things around you and knowing how to appreciate them. Personally, I tend to sometimes be very disconnected, and the next day very emotional, I can be very hyper and then very calm. I'm actually full of contradictions. But I take them and I appreciate them. See there isn't one person on earth that is the same as the other, and there isn't anyone that is better then the other. There are just people that enjoy everything they go threw in life. And my contradictions, keep my life interesting. Today I feel like a green Apple, Tomorrow, I'm not sure I will like it so much. But so what!, I mean I will enjoy the apple today and tomorrow I'll enjoy something else. But keep in mind, I entertain these contradictions, when they don't affect my life in drastic ways, and don't affect ppl around me in drastic ways. When someone stops, thinks, and takes a decision in life, You have to think of everything, and these contradictions within you, make you capable of taking the right decision, so I entertain them, but I try my best to only entertain them at my expense, and not at the expense of others. On a more serious note, the most amazing thing about these contradictions, is that I have the ability to feel different kinds of things for one same thing, and the balancing act of it, is what I enjoy the most. Its the moment I was able to feel it all and then find my peace and appreciate it. It can be about changing jobs, changing countries or changing the color of your room. Finding the balance is amazing, but going threw the contradictions, is what makes it something to remember. In any case, I will not bore you more with this issue. But I wish you all to tilt one way then all the way to the other, and eventually find your balance. Even if you balance and imbalance every single day. At the end of the day all that matters is good energy around you. Good karma, and eventually a content and happy life. Night everyone!

Camel sacrifice at Istanbul Airport!
"The camel was sacrificed Tuesday at Istanbul's Ataturk airport and about 1,540 pounds of meat was distributed among the staff. "

Christmas and New Year
I had great moments with my brother and sister too, interesting conversation with my brother about what's next. And a lot of things took perspective.
The year 2006 had nice times but it certainly wasn't all great for me, neither was 2005, and on new year's eve we were driving up north, me, my cousin and one of our friends, were riding in the same car in which we let out everything bad about 2006, we just unleashed, and it felt like a great clean up. We are all three feeling pretty good about 2007 ;) (at least we are hoping). All I know is that I'm back in Kuwait, still feeling good about many things in my life, and I'm really looking forward to what's next.
I wish you all, a great year, unforgettable moments, and lots of love.
